About Us

Dedicated Educators

We know that learning is easier when you have an excellent teacher. That's why most of our educators have achieved an advanced degree in their field. Our faculty are passionate about the subjects they teach and bring this enthusiasm into their lessons.

First-Rate Curriculum

CORE CURRICULUM (Special Education)

Elementary School (grades PK-5):

Students in grades K-5 typically enroll in courses that are classified as “self-contained” where they spend the majority of the time in one classroom. Therefore, in most cases, there is not a need for separate course numbers within each grade level. The classroom instruction is based on the expectations identified in the Sunshine State Standards.

Middle School (grades 6-8):

Students in middle grades may enroll in courses offered within the 17 different subject areas of art-visual arts; computer education; dance; drama-theater arts; exploratory education; foreign languages; health; language arts; library media; mathematics; music; peer counseling; physical education; research and critical thinking; science; social studies; career and technical education. Each course is developed using the benchmarks outlined in the Sunshine State Standards.

High School (grades 9-12):

Students in high school may enroll in courses offered within the 21 different subject areas of art-visual arts; computer education; dance; drama-theater arts; experiential education; foreign languages; health; humanities; language arts; library media; mathematics; music; peer counseling; physical education; research and critical thinking; science; social studies; leadership skills development; career and technical education. Each course is developed using the benchmarks outlined in the Sunshine State Standards.

  • (BKSE follows all the requirements dictated by the Florida Dept of Education for academic requirements. Our students transition back to their local high schools in order to receive a diploma. They are also required to take the ACT or SAT as satisfaction of all testing. If a student returns to their base school before graduation that must take EOCC's.)

Exciting Extracurriculars

We offer a wide variety of extracurricular activities; ranging from music lessons, team sports, to art classes. We have options that cater to every student's interests. Keep an eye out for sign-ups!
